Super Bowl Sunday is almost here! Make sure you tune into Channel 8 WMTW morning news on the day of the big game to catch me showing you how to make some of my favorite football party foods! Whether you’re having a big bash or a more laid back party for fewer guests, these two recipes are perfect, delicious, quick, easy and sure to impress any guest list. Make sure you celebrate the right way – with lots of delicious food! Here are the recipes for the two snacks I will be making on the news. My Bacon Wrapped Breadsticks and my Jalapeno Crab Dip are sure to get everyone in your crowd cheering!
Bacon Wrapped Breadsticks
Ingredients
- Crisp breadsticks (not the soft kind)
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1 cup Chili powder
- dash Cayenne powder
- Uncooked Bacon Strips
Method
- Mix brown sugar, chili powder and cayenne powder together and lay out on a baking sheet
- Wrap the strip of uncooked bacon around the breadstick
- Roll the breadstick into the brown sugar mixture
- Bake in 375 degree oven until bacon is cooked
Jalapeño Crab Dip
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lump crabmeat picked over for cartilage and shells
- 1 tsp. chopped garlic
- ½ cup chopped pickled jalapeños
- ¼ lb. grated Monterey jack cheese
- 1 tsp. of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. tobacco
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 oz. grated parmesan cheese plus a handful for the top
- 1 tbs. Creole or spicy mustard
- Toasted toast points or baguette slices
Method
- Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl except the crouton toast points and baguettes slices
- Pour into a shallow baking dish
- Spread the handful of parmesan cheese over the top
- Bake in 375 degree oven until bubbly and browned
